In working with these companies and developing their technologies, whether in product sales or metering capacities, Hi-Tech has been able to expand our market share and share the benefits these companies bring to the asphalt industry.
In 2009, Shell Oil partnered with Hi-Tech to help introduce a new product to the asphalt industry in the United States and Canada.
Shell Thiopave is an asphalt additive composed of encapsulated sulfur which has the capability to strengthen the road and act as a liquid asphalt replacer, replacing up to 30% of asphalt cement. Shell and Hi-Tech have the capability of providing this product to improve the quality and longevity to your road construction project.
Hi-Tech has partnered with Akzo Nobel, a global fortune 500 company leading in chemicals, coatings and asphalt applications with a turnover of 13.7 billion Euro and 62,000 employees. Hi-Tech has aligned with Akzo Nobel to introduce Warm Mix technology to the United States. The Akzo Nobel product Rediset WMX is a warm mix additive with an anti-stripping agent. Results from the Hamburg Wheel Tracking Test clearly show that Rediset WMX can actually replace the need of using lime or cement.
Evonik Degussa has partnered with Hi-Tech to roll out the latest innovation in using Recycled Ground Tire Rubber to strengthen asphalt. The introduction of Evonik’s Vestenamer, a chemical reactant or cross-linking agent for Recycled Ground Tire Rubber, produces a more durable, better quality road. Hi-Tech has worked USA State Departments of Transportation to introduce this new technology for construction of roads in their respective States.
Hi-Tech has partnered with I.I.G. to introduce mineral fiber to the asphalt industry throughout the United States. I.I.G., with locations throughout the U.S. and China has taken a by-product from their insulation manufacturing and Hi-Tech has made it approved as a Mineral Fiber Additive to asphalt mixtures. In addition to getting this product approved, Hi-Tech has also been able to acquire approximately 90% of the mineral fiber market in the U.S. for I.I.G.
Within this process GMRS, uses an environmentally friendly cold asphalt product called Aquaphalt Premium in the U.S., known in Europe as Rephalt.
We are working with the City of Richmond, Virginia; the DOT's of Virginia and New York; and the State of Louisiana to improve their roads with permanent solutions.
Hi-Tech has partnered with Sasol to introduce their new Warm Mix Additive Sasobit. We have performed research with NCAT (National Center for Asphalt Technology) to prove that Warm Mix Asphalt using Sasobit provides a PG Grade Bump. This allows for a contractor to improve the quality of their asphalt purchased by simply adding this additive.
Hi-Tech has successfully had this product approved in many states, more specifically passing the Cal Trans 109 Test in California, one of the most stringent tests in the nation. Also, this product has been used on several NASCAR Tracks such as Texas Motor Speedway and Talledaga Speedway. Hi-Tech has the ability to produce this technology for your construction needs.
